BAER Hand Tap Sets
BAER Hand Tap Sets
A hand tap set is a set of 3 taps- a taper tap, an intermediate tap and a finishing or bottom tap.
These taps provide efficient internal thread cutting. The short structural type of the taps makes them usable by hand.
The special straight flute holds the chips making it suitable for both through and blind holes.
They are commonly used in construction, free-machining, case hardened & heat-treatable steels.
Normal Taps are Suitable for non abrasive material up to 900 N/mm2 and unalloyed and low alloyed steel.
These are HSS taps.
For higher demands and tapping into Stainless Steels, a special HSSE with Steam Tempered option (HSSE-VAP) is available. This is recommended for materials up to 1400 N/mm2 and 44.5 HRC.
Reverse Thread – LH thread options are also available.
