Thread forming taps are used to form internal threads by displacing the metal without producing chips.

The TIN surface treatment (titanium-nitride gold-yellow) increases the surface hardness (approx. 2300 HV) and the sliding properties.

The Forming Tap has improved geometry for an optimal processing of a big range of materials.
The base material metal powder HSSE addition increases the hardness and the toughness.
The lubrication grooves provide the necessary lubrication to depths of 3.0 D.

Steels up to 1200 N/mm²
Stainless steels up to 1000 N/mm²
Cast aluminum and wrought alloys Si <10% (average chip length)
Copper, copper alloys and brass (long chipping)
Nickel and nickel alloys up to 1000 N/mm²
