Weld Nuts

A weld nut is a special type of nut specifically designed to be welded to another object. There are various types for different applications.

Weld nuts are made with a greater amount of material than other nuts so that the nuts form is maintained after being welded to another object.

SS Hex Weld Nuts DIN 929

These nuts are very similar to standard hex nuts, but have a locating boss and welding projections. The bosses also keep weld spatter out of the threads.

Hex weld nuts are a six-sided, internally threaded fastener with three triangular weldable projections on the top surface of every other corner of the fastener. The threaded hoe runs through the centre and has a pilot for the entire circumference of the opening which extends above the top surface of the nut and the above projections. The remainder of the top surface of the nut is flat.

Square Weld Nuts DIN 928

Square Weld Nuts have a four sided square body with 4 projections at each corner of the square. Consequently, they have a stronger hold than Hex Weld Nuts.
