MicroFast Micro Size Screws and Nuts

Our MicroFast range of micro size screws, nuts and washers provide a solution to the many industries that need reliable fixing options in the Micro range.

As products keep getting smaller and smaller, there is a real need to have very small screws and nuts to connect a number of mini components.

Our MicroFast range includes machine screws, self tapping screws, thread forming screws, nuts and washers.

Traditionally used in the Spectacle/eyeglasses, Watch and Toy industries, these sizes are now useful for a number of applications such as Mobile Phones, Sensors, Electronics, Laboratory equipment etc.

JCPlas Thread Forming Screws for Plastics

Thread forming screws for strong connections in plastics. These are available in a number of head styles, including a special low profile head which gives a flush low profile design while minimising weight and space.

Go to the JCPlas Thread Forming Screws page

Metric Tri-lobe Thread Forming Screws for Metal

Thread-rolling screws form their nut threads themselves when they are screwed into precut holes.

This not only saves assembly and production costs, but also creates stable and secure connections.

In contrast to thread cutting, the material structure in the mating thread is not interrupted when threading, but compressed and strain hardened.

They are available with Pan and CSK heads.

Spacers and Standoffs

Spacers and Standoffs are two common types of positioning electronic hardware.

They provide sturdy support, alignment and spacing to a variety of applications such as circuit board assemblies, panels and doors.

They are available in a number of design and material options.

Available as threaded or unthreaded.

Available in hex and round body.

Now also available in Stainless Steel SS-316 A4.

Through Internal Threaded Hex Standoffs

Also called Female-Female or F-F Spacer, these have internal threads and are used to hold two components at a given distance from each other.

Available from M2 onwards.

F-F Spacers are also available with UNC threads.

These are available in the below material options.

  • Brass
  • Stainless Steel SS-303 and SS-316 A4
  • Aluminium
  • Steel on request
  • Nylon
  • Nylon with metal insert

Nylon is a good insulator and has a surface smoothness which will not fray the insulation of wires that rub against it.

Nylon standoffs provide insulation and keep two parts from touching each other, thereby preventing electrical shorts

Go to the F-F Spacers page.

Hex M-F Standoff or ET Spacer

These are Internal-External Threaded Spacers or Male-Female type.

Male-female standoffs are used for printed circuit board mounting and other applications requiring close controls of dimensions.

Available from M2 onwards.

M-F Spacers are also available with UNC threads.

These are available in the below material options.

  • Brass
  • Stainless Steel SS-303 and SS-316 A4
  • Aluminium
  • Steel on request
  • Nylon
  • Nylon with metal insert

Nylon is a good insulator and has a surface smoothness which will not fray the insulation of wires that rub against it.

Nylon standoffs provide insulation and keep two parts from touching each other, thereby preventing electrical shorts

Self Clinching Fasteners

Self Clinching Fasteners are easy to install fasteners that provide load carrying threads in metal sheets too thin to be tapped.

They provide strong threads in thin metal components and are easy to install.

Advantages:

  • Provide strong threads in thin metal components
  • Easy installation
  • High push-out and torque out resistance
  • No re-tapping necessary
  • Reverse side of sheet remains flush
  • Low installed cost

Clinch Nut

Can easily perform tapping on thin plates.

Achieves a high mounting strength using simple press fitting.

Can be mounted without worrying about the direction.

Can also easily perform tapping at locations that are difficult to weld such as on aluminum plates.

Go to the Clinch Nuts page

Flush Nut

Self-clinching flush nuts suit applications where a thin metal sheet requires load-bearing threads stronger than tapped holes but must remain flat without any protrusions on either side of the sheet.

This can provide strong threads in places which would be inaccessible for installation after chassis are formed.

Go to the Flush Nuts page

Press Nut (Broaching Nuts)

Press nuts are used wherever a high degree of joint stability is required in thin-walled sheet metal or plastic parts.

They are a very good alternative to nuts that are welded, brazed or welded to the component.

Press nut that can obtain a high mounting strength thanks to the knurled portion under the neck.

Self Clinching Blind Standoff

A Self-Clinching Standoff provides an excellent solution for mounting, spacing and stacking of boards and panels.

They provide strong captivated reusable female threads in a spacer format in thin sheets.

Blind Standoffs are used where the design calls for the standoff to be installed in the exterior of the enclosure, and a smooth outer appearance is required.

Go to the Self-Clinching Standoffs page

Self Clinching Through Hole Standoff

A Self-Clinching Standoff provides an excellent solution for mounting, spacing and stacking of boards and panels.

They provide strong captivated reusable female threads in a spacer format in thin sheets.

Self Clinching Through Hole Standoffs can accommodate longer screws, giving higher flexibility of usage.

Go to the Self-Clinching Standoffs page

Clinch Stud

Self–Clinching studs are pressed into a hole in a sheet to be installed, this embeds the head of the stud creating a secure lock into the sheet with high torqure-out and pushout resistances.

They provide strong load bearing male or female threads in thin steel and aluminium panels.

Heavy Clinch Studs are also available for High Strength applications.

Go to the Clinch Studs page

Self Clinching Blind Fastener

Self Clinching Blind Fasteners are used in applications requiring closed end threads.

Also known as clinching blind press nuts, they provide an excellent design solution for assemblies where there is a desire to protect the contents from foreign matter.

These fasteners provide a permanent blind thread in thin metal sheets.

Spring Pins

Spiral and Slotted Pins
A spring pin is a mechanical fastener that secures the position of two or more parts of a machine relative to each other.

Spring pins have a body diameter which is larger than the hole diameter, and a chamfer on either one or both ends to facilitate starting the pin into the hole.

The spring action of the pin allows it to compress as it assumes the diameter of the hole. The force exerted by the pin against the hole wall retains it in the hole, therefore a spring pin is considered a self retaining fastener.

Lag Bolts/Lag Screws

Known as lag bolts or lag screws or coach screws, these are among the toughest fasteners used in the industry. These extremely sturdy fasteners are usually used to connect heavy lumber or other heavy materials that bearing intensive loads. Their distinctive feature is their huge size with their starting size being approx. 20mm long and about 6mm thick. Lag screws have sharp lead thread points and are usually hex head.

Go to Lag Bolts/ Lag Screws Page

Square Neck Carriage Bolts

This is known by different names such as Carriage Bolts, Coach bolts/ Round Head Square neck bolt, Mushroom Head Square neck bolt etc. Useful for fastening wood and metal together.

It is distinguished from other bolts by its shallow mushroom head followed by a square neck, while the shank cross section of the bolt is circular. This gives the bolt its self locking feature. The square neck grips into the part being fixed preventing the head from turning when the nut is tightened.

Go to Carriage Bolts Page

Dome Bolt

Dome bolt has high utility in architectural metal work as it’s aesthetically appealing as a cover for threaded rods and as caps for machine screws.

Go to Dome Bolts Page

Weld Studs or Bolts

Resistance welded fasteners are materially binding and can potentially eliminate the need for laborious welding operations. Premium resistance weld fasteners allow for additional components to be attached to an existing metal part, while allowing the fastener itself to stay permanently attached.

Some of the different types of weld fasteners include weld nuts, weld studs and weld pins. Weld fasteners are a good solution for creating a super-strong and permanent connection between steel and the fastener.
